Bryan Adams had a massive hit in 1991 with “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”, which was used in the end title sequence of the movie Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner.

The song remained in the British charts for over 16 consecutive weeks. It went on to sell over 15 millions copies and became one of the most successful singles of all time. It garnered a mass of awards too including a Grammy, an Academy Award nomination and global gold and platinum discs for massive sales.

This interview was recorded in London in 1984 when Bryan was enjoying a top forty hit with “Cuts Like a Knife”.

In the conversation he talks about the song “Summer of 69” a nostalgic tribute to the sixties, why he decided to write songs for himself after having penned songs for among others, including Joe Cocker, and the experience of going on tour with Tina Turner.
