Mal Reding portrait with microphoneWelcome to malreding.com, my online home, reflecting a variety of my skills and interests:

The audio archive showcases a growing array of radio interviews that I recorded with some of the most successful and interesting recording artists of the 20th century including Paul McCartney, Elton John, Kate Bush and Rod Stewart. Many of these conversations were recorded over thirty years ago and reveal a unique insight into the lives of these artists.

The link to Hackney Radio introduces an exciting new community radio station in the neighbourhood where I live.

And finally schools radio section will help provide information and costs for setting up your own school/college radio station. We even provide training.

The aim is to set up a community radio station in the Well Street area of Hackney for the benefit of the entire community.

Largely volunteers will run the station in production and presentation. A fulltime programme director and technical manager will manage the station. The target audience will be the entire London Borough of Hackney hence the station name: www. hackneyradio.com.

It is intended to set up the main on air and transmission facilities from a shop front on Well Street with a satellite training facility connected by Internet IP address at Prideaux House on Church Crescent, close by.

www.hackneyradio.com will reflect the rich diversity of the borough and represent a cross-section of the community in music, speech, drama and information.

Students using radio equipmentWhether you are a small local primary school or a nationally recognized major university radio the key to making radio a success within a school/college environment is to design a technology that is fit for purpose, coupled with great training and support.

We don’t supply the same products to education as we do our commercial clients as the level of sophistication demanded by such users would make it almost impossible for use within a school and would require extremely high levels of training and support.

Synergy School Radio Packages are the ONLY system where the hardware, software and furniture is both designed and manufactured by the same company.

This unique approach to designing a radio studio makes sure that there is no ‘passing the buck’ between suppliers in a few years time, the hardware is fully integrated with the software resulting in an easier to use and ultimately more robust product.
